The Legendary Streif Run

Course record 1:51:58 min (1997, Fritz Strobl, Austria). These are some basic data on the “Streif” downhill of the most spectacular in the world. “I congratulate all who are here who made it down with me. I think we are all crazy! “said the 4 times-winner Didier Cuche (SUI) after skiing down the Streif .

Since 1931, the Hahnenkamm races has taken place from Kitzbuehel Hausberg mountain. The fixed points since the early years are the run down the Streif and the Slalom on Ganslernhang . The historic-slalom slope will be in use again after short break in the last years. Since the 1990s a super-G on the Streif is disputed, which Friday the ski weekend ushers.

The event is from 15th – 22nd January.
