How Many Gallons/Cubic Metres do I have?

Many people are unsure of their own swimming pools capacity.

This can be a big problem when trying to work out dose rates for chemicals and sizing products for your pool. In the tablebelow we give the calculations inboth metric and imperial so it should be of use for people who use ‘old money’ or ‘new money’! (ft) or (m)

Circular Pools

Imperial – diameter (ft) x diameter (ft) x Average Depth (ft) x 4.9 = Gallons

Metric – diameter (m) x diameter (m) x Average Depth (m) x 0.8 = Cubic Metres

Oval Pools

Imperial – Long diameter (ft) x Short diameter (ft) x Average Depth (ft) x 5 = Gallons

Metric – Long diameter (m) x Short diameter (m) x Average Depth (m) x 0.9 = Cubic Metres

Rectangular Pools

Imperial – Length (ft) x Width (ft) x Average Depth (ft) x 6.23 = Gallons

Metric – Length (m) x Width (m) x Average Depth (m)  = Cubic Metres
